On the weekend of December 11-13, people around the world took action on climate change. Over 3000 events were held: massive marches in Copenhagen and other cities, signing walls in world capitals, beautiful candlelight vigils in our communities, and church bells ringing out around the world.
This global weekend of action unfolded during the middle of the Copenhagen climate negotiations, and helped shift the dynamic. ForumCC members did their part by organizing a music event and have people scribe messages on a big plastic sheet that was taken to Copenhagen, and Tcktcktck campaign did theirs, making sure photos, videos, and stories are projected onto walls and screens all around Copenhagen, and using them as lobbying tools for UN delegates. We showed the world we are ready are for a real climate deal.
